Frequently asked questions
- Discontinue blood-thinning medications such as Vitamin A, E, Multivitamins, Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, and Naproxen for 7 days prior to treatment to reduce risk of bruising.
- If you are on blood thinners such as Coumadin, Heparin, Lovenox, or Plavix, please let us know prior to treatment. This may be a contraindication to treatment.
- Avoid treatments such as lasers, chemical peels, waxing, or hair removal 7 days prior to treatment.
- Please discontinue topical anti-aging, acne, and skin lightening products 72 hours prior to treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure/tanning beds 7 days prior to treatment. Sunburns are a contraindication to treatment.
- On the morning of your appointment, please come in with freshly washed hair. Use your regular shampoo. Do not use any hairspray, gel, or styling products.
- Contraindications to treatment include: Immunosuppressive diseases, bleeding disorders, anticoagulation therapy, use of Accutane within 90 days, pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin disorders in the treatment area, open wounds in the treatment area.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, and Naproxen for 48-72 hours post-procedure.
- Avoid physical activity, exercise, hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas 48 hours after treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure on the area for 24-48 hours and apply SPF 30 if unable to avoid.
- Ice application is not recommended post-hair restoration sessions. This will vasoconstrict the area.
- Do not touch, rub or massage the treated area for at least 8 hours post-treatment.
- Do not get the hair/scalp wet for at least 3 hours.
- Use of a PH balanced shampoo is recommended for the next 7 days.
- Avoid hair growth medications such as Minoxidil for the next 5 days.
- Do not color, bleach or straighten hair for the next 5 days. It is normal for minor redness/irritation after treatment.
